Belden Premaraj has more than 30 years of experience in construction and engineering, energy, oil and gas dispute resolution, on-project claims advisory and contractual risk management. He is an accredited arbitrator, mediator and adjudicator, with regular appointments as counsel or arbitrator in international disputes. Belden gives intense focus to the facts of a case and applies a keen investigative approach in his dispute resolution work. He believes that if one looks thoroughly enough, the project documents will vividly reveal the truth behind a dispute. His commitment to arguing the case based on documented facts means that the case theory from pleadings to the close of submissions remains consistent. He does not shy away from technical information and is known for his incisive cross-examination of factual and expert witnesses. Belden also provides on-project advisory that helps his clients focus on dispute avoidance from an early stage of the project.
